An Indent, is a request for Purchasing Vehicles. Depending on the requirements of vehicles, people at a Dealership make an Indent, giving details of the different Vehicle Models required. Based on these Indent, the Purchase in-charge at the Dealership will place orders, on the manufacturer or request for the Vehicles from Dealerships own Stockyard.
- Indents may be created for
- Placing an Order for Purchase of Vehicles with a Manufacturer
- Requesting for Vehicles from own Stock yard of the dealership
- Indents give details of quantities required of Different Models, with colors and Options
- Based on the Indent, Purchase Orders for Vehicles, are created on Manufacturer
- Infoman - SMS has a provision for having different types of Purchase Orders which may be placed on the manufacturer, eg. There may be Regular Monthly / Weekly or Daily Orders, or there may be One-Off orders for certain models.
- These Purchase Orders may either be Printed / emailed and sent to the Manufacturer, or maybe sent through a Custom EDI Interface
- Incase there is a Custom EDI Interface, then it is possible to receive an Acceptance or a rejection from the Manufacturer and update the same on the system
Advantages of the Indenting and Purchase Module include
- Two step Order Creation Module - of Indent and Purchase. This helps in creating a two step Ordering process - A request for Ordering Vehicles, and after validating the request, Creating and Placing the actual purchase order on the manufacturer / supplier.
- In Infoman - SMS, a dealer can configure and have multiple types of Indents (eg. Indents for requesting Vehicles from the Dealer's own Stock yard, or Ordering them from the Manufacturer).
- Similarly, a Dealer can setup multiple types of Purchase Orders, eg. Orders to be placed on the Manufacturer (on Manufacturer's Selling Price), on other Suppliers (on Negotiated Purchase Prices) etc.
- Dealership can know what is Stock On - Order, this helps while placing fresh Orders for Vehicles with the Manufacturer.
